Neodymium Disc magnets in everyday life
You probably use Neodymium Disc Magnets all the time maybe that is why you are here. May be you use them in your everyday life. You could be a fridge magnet maker for all I know. However, here is a number of facts that you might not know about these magnets. For starters, they are also known as rare earth magnets, but you probably knew that. Interestingly, Neodymium and Praseodymium were discovered at the exact same time in 1885, at the Vienna Academy of Sciences by the chemist Baron Carl Auer von Welsbach. However, “neodidymium” which came from the greek Neos didumos, meaning “New Twin” was the pink element found when Carl Auer split the alloy didymium into two parts for the first time, Praseodymium was green.
The Great Carl Auer
It was later that Carl Auer perfected neodymium and later still the magnets. Furthermore, Neodymium disc magnets are actually made from an alloy of neodymium, boron and iron. This allows them to simultaneously store impressive amounts of magnetic energy while being highly resistant to demagnetization.
At Sekao Engineering, we stock neodymium disc magnets in numerous sizes. Carl Auer, would be proud. Buying these magnets online is quick and easy. Not to mention, safe and secure. First choose the shape, then the size and finally just click and buy. I doubt it could be any easier. What is more, if you look to buy in bulk of 10 or more magnets, we will give you a discount. And, it’s pretty generous too.
